Time to play with fabrics. Fabric sets the stage, defines the mood, and quite literally holds everything together – like fabric glue but in a classy way.

Start with 4 Way Stretch Lycra for that body-conforming fit that says, “Yes, this is custom-made.” It stretches every which way like a yoga master, but feels fabulous.

4 Way Stretch Metallic Fabric

Premium 4 Way Stretch Mesh

Eyelash Lace

If there’s one fabric that whispers “luxury” and “romance” all at once, it’s eyelash lace. Delicate, feathery, and oh-so-elegant, it adds a vintage softness to any lingerie piece.

Step-by-Step: Creating Your First Lingerie Piece!

Now that you’ve got your tools and chosen your fabrics, you’re feeling fabulous. So, what’s next? It’s time to bring it all together! But don’t stress – because honestly, it’s easier than you think. Here’s a quick, beginner-friendly roadmap to get you started:

1. Pick a Simple Pattern

Start with a bralette, thong, or undies pattern designed for beginners. All my patterns include a clear seam allowance and are beginner-friendly, so you can skip the guesswork and jump straight into sewing.

2. Cut with Confidence

Lay your fabric on the cutting mat, pin or clip your pattern pieces, and use your rotary cutter or electric scissors for smooth, accurate cuts. Remember to breathe – mistakes are part of the fun!

3. Pin, Clip, or Trust Your Gut

Match the pieces together as per your pattern instructions. Use sewing clips (they’re less stabby than pins) to hold everything in place.

4. Let the Machine Work Its Magic

Thread your sewing machine with matching thread, pop in your stretch needle, and go slow. Stretch fabrics can wiggle a bit, so use a zigzag stitch or a stretch stitch for maximum flexibility.

Not sure which settings to use? Don’t worry—all the best machine settings are shown in my YouTube tutorials!

5. Add the Elastic + Finishing Touches

Sew in your elastic using a three-step zigzag, then add rings, sliders, bows, and of course – your cute little ribbon (check out the bow tutorial if you missed it!).

6. Try it On and Celebrate!

Admire your work in the mirror, do a happy dance, and snap a photo (or five). You just made lingerie with your own two hands – how amazing is that?
